SPC5 Flash Programmer GUI

The SPC5 Flash Programmer GUI is composed by the following sections:

• Configuration:
  • to select the target, the external clock, the password and all properties selectable. This section contains also the flash start address and the flash end address.
  • to choose the interfaced used to connect the target.
• Operations:
  • to select the image used to program the flash or to verify the flash content.
  • target selected flash map.
  • all commands available.
• Console:
  • to show all output of the tool.

Configuration

Device configuration section contains the following items:

• Device: this list allows to select the device from all devices available by the tool.
• Quarz (MHz): this list allows to select the quartz value in MHz from all quartz values available by the tool.
• Password: to set the password.
• ASC@CAN: this check allows selecting the ASC@CAN interface.
• Fast: this check allows changing the baud rate to the maximum value available after the plugin downloading during the BAM/BAF just to improve the performance of the tool.
• K-Line: this check allows selecting K-Line interface. The user has to choose UART interface from interface list; at this point the check-box checked means that the K-Line interface is selected.
• Auto baudrate: this check allows using the BAM with auto baud setting enabled. It is available only for the target with this feature available
• Use Tx alternate function: this check allows selecting the alternate TX as TX pin.
• Flash information: it show flash size, start address and end address of the target selected.

  

• Interface: shows all interfaces connected to the host. SPC5 Flash Programmer tool supports three kind of interface:
  • SCI interface: indicated by UCUART::HybridCom/<COM port number>/UART. It contains all virtual com ports installed in the PC. To use the following interface, select the corresponding COM port number connected to the serial port of the target.
  • SCI interface: indicated by UCUART::FTDI/<FTDI number>/UART. It contains all FTDI devices installed in the PC. To use the following interface, select the corresponding FTDI number connected to the serial port of the target.
  • CAN interface: indicated by UCCAN::SPC5Connect/<SPC5Connect number>/CAN It contains all instances of SPC5Connect connected into the PC. Select the item corresponding to the SPC5Connet connected to the target.

  

  Communications are performed via BAM or BAF depending on specified target.

  For the SPC56 family FAB and ABS pins on target must be properly set (please check the specific target reference manual for the appropriate setting).

  For SPC57 and SPC58 families the target must not have a valid boot header and its current lifecycle phase must be less than "In field" (please check the specific target reference manual for more details).

• Connect: this button starts the downloading of the plugin into the target RAM via BAM/BAF using the configuration set in the GUI. When the download is terminated successfully, operation buttons will be enabled. The result of the operation is displayed in the console.
• Disconnect: this button disconnects the target.

  

Operations

• Image selection: this edit allow to specify the current binary image or to select it using the browse button. The current image is used to program the flash or to compare the content of the flash.
• Erase: this button erases the flash sectors selected in the flash map. The result of the operation is displayed in the console.
• Program: this button programs the flash of the device using the image file selected. The result of the operation is displayed in the console.
• Dump: this button performs a dump of the flash of the flash sectors selected in the flash map saving the result in a file selected in the browse window displayed. The result of the operation is displayed in the console.
• Blank check: this button performs a blank check of the flash sectors selected in the flash map. The result of the operation is displayed in the console.
• Verify: this button performs verifying of the flash sectors selected in the flash map with the image file selected. The result of the operation is displayed in the console.
